The Best Cheap Laptop Deals
Cheap laptops come in many forms, from super cheap Chromebooks to child-friendly first-generation laptop models to surprisingly well-specified productivity machines, all for $ 700 or less. You can find more of our favorite cheap laptops here.
Dell’s XPS range (rightly so) gets a lot of praise, but with the solid AMD Ryzen 7 chips, its Inspiron Touch laptops are starting to get good value for money. Here you get a lot of power under the hood, from 16GB of RAM and an AMD Ryzen 5000 processor to a good chunk of 512GB of SSD storage.
If your needs are more basic, 8 GB of RAM and a mid-range processor may suffice. This model offers you a productivity-friendly Ryzen 5 chip, a suitable 512 GB SSD, 8 GB of RAM and a 120 Hz FHD display. A solid package for less than $ 450.

Another device that includes the AMD Ryzen 5 chip, always impressive and of great value, is this IdeaPad 3. It is already reduced, but you can get an additional discount of $ 29 by entering the code EXTRA5 on purchase. Your cash will give you 8 GB of RAM, a 256 GB SSD and a 1 TB HDD, which makes it a great device if you’re a file accumulator. It’s not flashy, but it’s thin and reasonably sized to do the job.
The Best Laptop Deals
You may have come here looking for a bargain, but these are decent deals on some more fancy machines.
The LG Gram range is usually recognized for the low weight and large screens of the 16 and 17 inch models. However, the principle extends to the 14-inch version, which makes it extremely light as well as housing an ideally sized productivity screen. This LG Gram 14 is also a 2 in 1, which offers a tablet option using its 360 hinge. It is also a top-notch model, with an Intel Core i7 processor.
The new Galaxy Book 2 range has just landed, but it’s worth taking into account previous iterations, especially with the new discounted prices. The usual Pro model offers an AMOLED display (beautiful color and deep black), Intel Core i5 CPU and 8 GB of RAM with a sleek and well-built design.
The Best Laptop Gaming Deals
Gaming laptops are generally not cheap, so it’s always good to buy them for sale. Here are some powerful and valuable machines.
This machine no longer offers the highest level of performance of the gaming laptop, due to its older Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti mobile GPU, but with its Ryzen 9 5900HX processor it comes quite close. With a simple yet robust design, you get 16GB of RAM and a 1-terabyte SSD for storage.
The Legion 7 may be Lenovo’s most impressive gaming laptop, but the Legion 5 is no exception. The specs here aren’t the best of the best, but they get to a sweet spot when it comes to value. With this model, you get an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H processor, a mid-range RTX 3060 graphics card, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD.
You may not be looking for a high-powered gaming machine, and that’s fine. There is a lot to offer with many low-priced low-end graphics card (GPU) devices these days. The GF65 includes an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060, Intel Core i5-10400H and 8GB of RAM. These specs are far from the top range, but will do the job for the low end games.
If you are looking for an entry-level gaming laptop, a machine with an Nvidia RTX 3050 GPU is what you want. For less than $ 700, you still get a 144 Hz panel, an Intel i5 CPU, 8 GB of RAM, and a 256 GB SSD. It’s a combination to facilitate basic gaming needs, but it’s usually a trusted brand and will do the job.

How to Buy a Refurbished Laptop
Buying refurbished devices is relatively straightforward, with retailers and manufacturers offering refurbished devices at attractive prices. Stores like Amazon, Best Buy, Newegg, and Walmart sell these laptops. Brands such as Apple, Dell and Lenovo also sell refurbished models in their own stores.
The key is to find out what “refurbished” means on each of these websites so that you know exactly what you’re getting. First of all, buying refurbished can often mean that you get a device that has been tested so that it is still in good working order or restored to meet the standards, along with a new warranty.
For example, here’s an excerpt from Best Buy’s refurbished laptop policy: “A refurbished item has been inspected, repaired, and restored to new, clean, working condition, and includes all parts and accessories. In general, these are electronic devices that have been returned for some reason. Most of the refurbished items are covered by Best Buy ‘s return and exchange promise and have a 90 – day minimum warranty.
Policies differ between retailers, so it’s always worth checking if there’s a thorough testing process, which are renewed with a “like new” standard and if they come with a new warranty. It is also worth checking your state or country’s refund and return policies to see what resources you may have if you encounter an out-of-warranty issue.
