Based on your heroine alone, the six-episode Disney + miniseries Mrs. Marvel it looks like it could be a game changer for fans of the Marvel movie universe. Kamala Khan, the next-generation hero named after the show, is not like any current MCU superstar; instead, she’s just a teenager Avengers fan no different from most people watching. Or at least it is until he unlocks powers he didn’t even know he had. And once fans see it go from fangirl to newly minted icon, they’ll be hungry for more. This is where we come in, with some comics you should read after falling in love with Mrs. Marvel.
Mrs. Marvel # 1-5 (2014)
The first story of the incarnation of the comic book character may not appear directly on the show (she has different powers, on the one hand, and a story of a different origin), but that’s where the heart and soul come from. of Kamala on screen, with G. Willow Wilson and Adrian Alphona creating someone a little more cheeky, a little less perfect and a lot more human than the hero fans had gotten used to. Think of it as an update to the classic Spider-Man formula that stays even more focused on the real person inside the costume.
Mrs. Marvel # 16-19 (2015)
The central part of Mrs. Marvel in both her comics and television incarnations is the world in which she lives; more than most Marvel heroes, she is very much a product of her environment and an advocate of those she loves. So what happens when this world ends and she can’t do anything to stop it? The story of the approaching comic Secret wars is the backdrop to “Last Days,” in which the end of the world is really is close, forcing Kamala to accept many harsh truths, confront an unexpected last-minute enemy … and meet his hero, Captain Marvel, only to increase his tension.
Mrs. Marvel # 25-28 (2017-2018)
Of course, the end of the world was not the end of the story, and years later Kamala has disappeared just when he needed it most. Who can take a step in this time of trouble? The new Avengers totally different # 1-6 (2015)
It was only a matter of time before Ms. Marvel could play in the larger Marvel Universe and Totally new and different avengers—Title that was launched as a result Secret wars story: put her face to face with some of the most important characters Marvel had at the time, such as Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and Spider-Man’s version of Miles Morales. Was she too admired by them to earn her place on the team, or does she just prove to be even more amazing as a result of what happens? Spoilers: Not the first. Think of this as a prelude to what will happen when the Kamala on screen meets her heroes.
Ms. Marvel: Bottled Up Infinity Comic # 1 (2022)
The current incarnation of the Kamala Khan comic has just finished a series: the multidimensional Ms. Marvel: Beyond the limit—And is preparing to appear in a three-part story over the summer that will combine it with Wolverine, Moon Knight, and Venom, respectively. (Look, he’ll almost certainly be able to resist each of them, if it’s a fight, which we doubt he’ll let pass, anyway.) In the meantime, he appears in this digital – only once too it could be one of his most charming appearances to date. Written by the author of the previous year Samira Ahmed with art by Ramon Bachs, Bottled is a cheerful low play with magical demons and a reminder that, deep down, Kamala Khan is a hero who watches over the little boys. Especially those who have eaten too much chocolate. It is a treasure, just like Kamala herself.
