Cannabis and coyotes top the agenda for Tuesday’s Huntington Beach City Council meeting.
After a study session on the taxation and regulation of cannabis companies at 16.00, the council will consider in its regular session whether a measure should be put on the ballot on November 8 to ask voters to allow the sale of recreational and medicinal marijuana in the city. as well as imposing a general sales tax on the sale of these products.
Also before the council will be whether to present to voters four amendments to the letter, including the change from the positions of treasurer and municipal secretary from elected to appointed positions.
The recent attack on a girl by a coyote on the beach near the city pier has led to a proposal for revisions to the city’s coyote management plan. Part of that plan includes educating the public on how to discourage coyotes by “hazing” and not letting them eat outdoors that could attract these canines.
The council will meet in its chambers at 2000 Main St. (on Yorktown Avenue) with the public session at 6 p.m.
