FRANKLIN, Ky. (WBKO) – Several firefighters battled a massive fire at a CBD oil facility in Franklin on Tuesday night.
“Yesterday afternoon we were alerted to a structural fire here at the facility. We, on the way, started the Woodburn Fire Department so that the automatic help could respond. presenting flames coming from the building, “said Franklin Simpson fire chief Leslie Goodrum, recalling the large fire.
Once at the facility, Franklin Simpson fire rescue officials began calling on other agencies for help.
“When we arrived the flames coming from the building started, we immediately installed a water supply with a hydrant, we lost a defensive attack, shortly after mounting the antenna, we were then presented with several explosions, “Goodrum added.
The fire lasted for hours, virtually destroying the premises, but no one was injured and the cause of the fire is still being investigated.
“Trying to operate in this kind of climate is, you know, extremely dangerous. We all need to be aware of the heat, the heat stroke, this kind of thing, and I appreciate everyone’s efforts,” Goodrum also said.
Those who own Shyne Labs, the CBD oil facility and the hemp extraction plant say employees are still working.
“We make sure everyone is taken care of right now and then we’ll worry about the business side and figure out how to move forward in Franklin, Simpson County,” John Knarreborg said. the COO of Shyne Labs.
