A Gold Coast man has been charged after police found more than 130 pounds of cannabis hidden in the back of a traffic van.

Officers from the main squad and organized crime intercepted the van at Currumbin Waters shortly before 1 p.m. Saturday.
Police allege the van was unregistered when it was intercepted on Guinea Creek Road.

Police say they found 136 pounds of cannabis with an approximate street value of $ 1.15 million packed in cardboard boxes in the van.
Elanora’s 22-year-old driver has been charged with felony criminal mischief, including possession of dangerous drugs, possession of dangerous drugs and driving without a license.
He will appear in Southport Magistrates Court today.
