Throughout June, The Marley Family, Island Recordsand UMe celebrate the 45th anniversary of Exodus – named “Best Album of the 20th Century” by Time magazine in 1999, with the digital release of three of the four nights of Bob Marley and the Wailers a historical tour of the Rainbow Theater in London and a consolidated and revised digital Exodus: Deluxe Edition.
After an assassination attempt in Kingston, Jamaica, in December 1976, Bob Marley and his band moved to London, in “exodus” from their home country, and recorded songs for what became the Exodus i Tan. albums. Marley’s Exodus, with the timeless tracks “Jamming”, “Three Little Birds”, “One Love / People Get Ready” and the epic title song, was the first, which resulted in the first positive reviews, ten first dates for Western Europe and shows at the Rainbow Theater in London’s Finsbury Park during the premiere week. But an injury to Bob caused the abrupt cancellation of the rest of the Exodus tour, including the innovative shows expected in the United States scheduled for late summer, and left the 1-2-3-4 June the final performances of that year’s Wailers.

A select number of songs from each of the four nights of Live at the Rainbow recordings have been included in the previously released deluxe editions. Exodusand the audio and video for the June 4 full concert were released during the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the year, # Marley75, in 2020. Most of the legendary performances from the previous three nights, however, feature lists of slightly different songs, as well as alternative arrangements, which had never been heard before. Bob Marley & The Wailers Live at the Rainbow: It will be released on June 1, 1977exactly the 45th anniversary of the release of the original album; Live at the Rainbow: June 2, 1977 will follow on June 10; i Live at the Rainbow: June 3, 1977 will conclude the series on June 17th. On all three dates there are 29 unreleased performances combined, that’s more than three-quarters of the shows.
To complete the celebration of the 45th anniversary, a revised and recently remastered version Exodus: Deluxe Edition it will also be published digitally on June 24th. The deluxe edition includes the album’s ten original songs, plus 18 singles and session songs; 13 of them are collected from two previous deluxe editions and add unreleased tracks “Natural Mystic (Alternate Version)” and “The Heathen (Alternate Version)” and the rare 7-inch versions of “Exodus”, “Jamming” and ” Punky Reggae Party “, the original B-side of” Jamming “. In addition to unreleased songs, the last two tracks were not previously available on all streaming services. To close the luxury there are two additional songs: the live-edited live versions of “So Much Things To Say” from the June 1 show, previously released in the deluxe edition of Exodus 40: The Movement Continues on 2017, and “Exodus,” the finale. of the set of June 2 of the Rainbow, which previously appeared in the deluxe edition of the 2001 album. Otherwise, each performance is presented unedited within their respective live sets.
