of the CBDR FSCO video
Franklin County MPs and the Sheriff’s Department have thanked Columbia Basin Dive Rescue (CBDR) for their resolute efforts over the past few days regarding a tragic drowning on Lake Chance, west of Connell.
Earlier last week, deputies were called to the small body of water a few miles west of Connell, to report a small boat that was submerged in the water.
Upon arrival, the CDR was called and examined the scene. The owner of the boat, whose name has not yet been released, was found with the boat underwater. The 80-year-old man was said to be from Grandview. According to the investigation, a 35-year-old man was supposed to go with him, but could not be located.
Then over the weekend, FCSO updated the information and said the second man had also been located in the water, but the official cause of death has not yet been released. Presumably, he drowned.
FCSO says no further information on the case will be released at this time.
The Sheriff’s Department also released this video as part of its appreciation to CBDR for its efforts in the incident.
